Ken Paxton didn’t even make it past his announcement video before violating federal law. According to a Texas Politics investigation, Paxton’s campaign kickoff ad for U.S. Senate features recycled footage that was purchased for his previous state campaign account. That’s illegal.
Federal Election Commission (FEC) rules prohibit federal candidates from using assets paid for by a nonfederal campaign unless the federal campaign reimburses the full cost. Ken clearly thinks the rules don’t apply to him.
His launch video contains clips lifted directly from his past state ads and was produced by the same firm that backed Governor Ron DeSantis over President Trump. This isn’t a “mistake.” It’s a pattern.
